Asia-Pacific (APAC) accounted for USD 1.3 trillion – or 44 percent – of the decade's total as catastrophic earthquake, tsunami, inland flood, and tropical cyclone events battered the region – and this is just accounting for natural disasters. Covid-19 has brought unprecedented impacts on the region – not only on the lives lost as well as the socio-economic costs – but its cascading impact on other sectors has ground the planet to a halt. This is why efforts to reduce disaster risks and implement effective emergency response to disasters must be systematically integrated into policies, plans and practices with recognition of the issues relating to sustainable development, climate change and poverty reduction.

REDCON Asia or Resilience on Emergency and Disaster Conference is a multi-stakeholder conference and exhibition that envisions to engage business sector leaders, government authorities, international agencies, non-profits, academia, media, and financing institutions among others in the value chain of Disaster and Emergency Management.

REDCON Asia is set to take place on 7-9 December 2022 at the United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok.

With Thailand’s position as the Chair of ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) and of Conference of the Parties (COP) to the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) in 2022, REDCON Asia seeks to reinforce the country’s leadership for boosting collaborations to enhance the disaster resilience of the region.

We intend to be the leading force in channeling the knowledge and foresights of professionals to identify actions on managing cascading risks as we face the nexus of disaster-disease-climate change scenarios.

We aspire to contribute to local and regional capacity-building efforts towards resilience building in Asia.
